About Acquiesce Winery
Susan Tipton's life changed with her first taste of a white Châteauneuf-du-Pape; determined to recreate it, she began planting white Rhône varieties in 2008 with cuttings from Tablas Creek, the Paso Robles winery partnered with Château de Beaucastel itself. She founded Acquiesce as a fully white-wine estate winery, tearing out most of the property's Zinfandel in a region famous for it, and pouring in a light-filled 100-year-old barn on her 18-acre property.
Catalog note: Acquiesce is located in Acampo in the Lodi appellation, not in Sonoma County, despite this listing's regional grouping. Lodi's only all-white winery grows Grenache Blanc, Picpoul Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Clairette Blanche, and Bourboulenc, hand-picked, whole-cluster pressed, and fermented in stainless steel, earning Tipton the 2022 International Woman Winemaker of the Year title and a Best White award at the San Francisco Chronicle competition for her Viognier.
