About Amapola Creek Lounge
Amapola Creek is the personal estate project of Richard Arrowood, one of Sonoma County's most decorated winemakers, who rose to fame crafting Chateau St. Jean's celebrated single-vineyard wines in the 1970s before founding his namesake Arrowood Vineyards. For his third act, Arrowood turned to a rugged property on the western slopes of the Mayacamas Mountains above Glen Ellen, farming CCOF-certified organic hillside vineyards in rocky volcanic soil.
Catalog note: this listing refers to the same Amapola Creek estate covered in our main Amapola Creek Wines entry; visits and tastings are one and the same operation on the Arrowood family property. The small-batch portfolio centers on estate Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel, including fruit from the famed Monte Rosso Vineyard, plus Russian River Chardonnay, poured at private, laid-back tastings hosted at the rustic barn-styled winery on the Arrowood family property. Vineyard blocks are hand-farmed with native cover crops and minimal irrigation, reflecting five decades of Arrowood's accumulated Sonoma craft.
