About Ampelos Cellars
Ampelos is the Sta. Rita Hills estate of Peter and Rebecca Work, corporate refugees who planted their vineyard after 9/11 refocused their lives, and farmed it to a rare triple crown: organically farmed, biodynamic and sustainable. The Greek name means vine, and the estate Pinot Noir, Syrah and Grenache carry the farming's signature freshness.
The Works' story and stewardship made Ampelos a quiet model for conscience-driven California farming, with the wines earning steady critical respect. Vine, in every sense.
