About Anonimo
Anonimo is named for the Italian word for anonymous, anonimo, the condition of being unknown, unnamed, deliberately without identity. The paradox of the name is its power: by calling itself anonymous, the winery makes itself distinctly known. It is a declaration against ego-driven winemaking: the wine should be anonymous in the sense that the winemaker's personality should not impose itself on the terroir's expression.
The Napa Valley boutique produces Cabernet Sauvignon from carefully selected valley sources with a winemaking philosophy that actively suppresses winemaker intervention in favor of terroir expression. The anonymous approach means: no branded barrels, no signature extraction techniques, no stylistic overlay that identifies the wine as belonging to a particular winemaker's aesthetic rather than a particular vineyard's character.
