Harvest Season in Antelope Valley Wine Country

When harvest happens in Antelope Valley wine country, what it looks like, and how to visit during crush.

When Crush Comes

Desert harvest comes early and fast, typically late August through September, with cold nights saving the acidity.

Late March for poppies with your pour, or September-October for harvest under mild desert skies.

What You'll See

Harvest turns enormous desert skies, spring poppy fields, Joshua trees at the margins and the Sierra Pelona canyons of Agua Dulce and Leona Valley into a working spectacle: bins on trailers, cellar doors open, and the smell of fermenting fruit around every corner.

Rooms stay open through crush, but the people pouring may also be picking; patience buys the best stories of the year.

Visiting Well

Come early in the day, ask before wandering near equipment, and buy where you linger; harvest hospitality runs on goodwill and case sales.
