About Araujo Estate
Araujo Estate is now known as Eisele Vineyard after the Pritzker family's purchase, but the Araujo chapter from 1990 to 2013 represents one of Napa Valley's most critically acclaimed single-vineyard Cabernet programs. Bart and Daphne Araujo purchased the historic Eisele Vineyard — the Calistoga benchland site that had supplied grapes to Joseph Phelps and produced some of the most celebrated Napa Cabernets of the 1970s — and established their own wine program under the Araujo Estate name with their Portuguese-heritage family surname. Under Araujo ownership, the Eisele Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon was scored by Wine Advocate at 95–100 points across multiple vintages, making it one of California's most consistently perfect-scoring single-vineyard Cabernet programs.
