About Barden Wines
Barden is the sibling label of Margerum Wine Company, the Santa Barbara County winery founded by Doug Margerum, a fixture of the region's food and wine scene for over 40 years. Doug launched Barden, his own middle name, in 2014 as a focused exploration of cold-climate wines from the Sta. Rita Hills AVA.
Where the Margerum label centers on Rhone varieties from around Santa Barbara County, Barden works exclusively with Sta. Rita Hills fruit, sourcing from top vineyards in the appellation to make Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah, plus bottlings such as Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Viognier and a barrel-fermented sparkling. The wild-boar label nods to the English meaning of "Barden," lives near the boar's den.
Barden is a Santa Barbara County label rather than a standalone winery with its own tasting room; its wines are poured through Margerum Wine Company's Santa Barbara tasting rooms. To taste, visit Margerum in Santa Barbara or check current availability through the winery.
