About Besson Family Vineyards
Besson Family Vineyards holds one of Santa Clara Valley's genuine treasures: Grenache vines planted in 1910, among the oldest documented plantings of the variety in California, farmed by the fourth generation of the same Gilroy family.
The Hecker Pass property pours on weekend afternoons, and the old-vine fruit, long prized by outside winemakers, now anchors the family's own label. Tasting here is drinking South Bay agricultural history straight from the source.
Weekend hours generally run noon to 5 with reservations offered; confirm before the drive and ask for the old-vine pour first.
