Betz Family Winery

Betz Family Winery was founded in 1997 by Bob Betz, a Master of Wine who spent 27 years at Chateau Ste. Michelle before establishing his own small-production winery dedicated to crafting Washington State's finest Rhône and Bordeaux-style wines. Bob Betz is one of fewer than 500 Masters of Wine worldwide, and his deep knowledge of both Old World traditions and Columbia Valley terroir gives Betz Family wines a sophistication and sense of place that few Washington producers can match.

The winery produces only about 5,000 cases annually from carefully selected vineyard sources across the Columbia Valley, including some of Washington's most legendary sites. The flagship wines, Père de Famille Cabernet Sauvignon, La Serenne Syrah, and Clos de Betz, are consistently rated among the state's finest, earning critical acclaim from every major wine publication. Bob's approach combines the intellectual rigor of a Master of Wine with the instincts of a lifelong farmer, resulting in wines that are both analytically precise and emotionally compelling.

The Woodinville tasting room offers an intimate, appointment-only experience where visitors can taste through the current releases with knowledgeable staff who understand the stories behind each vineyard source.
