About Betz Family Winery
Betz Family Winery was founded in 1997 by Bob Betz, a Master of Wine who spent 27 years at Chateau Ste. Michelle before establishing his own small-production project in Woodinville. Betz brings a level of academic and practical wine expertise unusual in American wine to his winery, and the results consistently achieve near-perfect critical scores.
The flagship Père de Famille Cabernet Sauvignon and the La Côte Rousse Syrah are produced from select Columbia Valley, Yakima Valley, and Red Mountain vineyard partners who share Betz's commitment to low yields and careful canopy management. Both wines require years of cellaring to show their full complexity.
Betz Family Winery wines are sold primarily through a mailing list and are rarely available at retail. Bob Betz retired from day-to-day winemaking in recent years, but the winery continues producing wines in his tradition from the Woodinville production facility.
