About Breggo Cellars

Breggo Cellars is an Anderson Valley winery in Mendocino County, founded in 2005 by Douglas Stewart on a former Boonville sheep ranch (Breggo is Boontling, the local dialect, for sheep). It earned early acclaim for cool-climate Pinot Noir and aromatic whites made from top Anderson Valley vineyards.

During the 2009 downturn Stewart sold the brand to Napa's Cliff Lede, who rebranded it as FEL Wines in 2014. When Cliff Lede exited Anderson Valley in 2023, Stewart repurchased the Breggo name and revived the label, reacquiring some older vintages and returning it to its Anderson Valley roots. Breggo continues to focus on vineyard-designate wines from sites such as Ferrington, Savoy, Golden Fleece and Stewart's own Lichen Estate, along with Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and sparkling.

Breggo is owned and run by Douglas Stewart alongside his Lichen Estate near Boonville. The Philo tasting room reopened for a time, but Breggo tastings are currently hosted at Lichen Estate; because these arrangements have changed more than once, confirm the current tasting location, hours and reservations directly with the winery before visiting.
