About Briarpatch Winery
Briar Patch Winery, also listed as Briar Patch Winery & Pecan Farm, operated in Porum, in eastern Oklahoma's Muskogee County, pairing a small winery with a pecan farm. It is no longer in business. Oklahoma Agritourism, the state's agritourism program, records that a new owner closed the Briarpatch operation in 2020.
The winemaking did not disappear entirely. The same state listing explains that the Lamb family bought the original Briarpatch winemaking equipment in 2020 and used it to start On the LAMb Winery in Stigler, Oklahoma, about half an hour east of Porum. Kelly and Janette Lamb run that winery using recipes developed over roughly twenty years by Jim Lamb, known in the family as Pa, and they offer wine tasting and live music near the Eufaula Dam.
There is nothing to visit at the Porum address. Listings that still carry Briar Patch hours show the winery closed every day of the week, and the business has no working website. Travelers looking for this wine should head instead to On the LAMb Winery in Stigler. Confirm current details with the business before planning a trip.
This winery is listed here for reference. It is closed, so there is no tasting room to visit.
