About Bruliam Wines
Kerith Overstreet's father told her she could be whatever she wanted after medical school, so she finished her M.D. at Rochester, residency and two fellowships at UCSD, and then decided winemaking sounded more fun, studying enology at UC Davis and launching Bruliam with a single barrel of Pinot Noir in 2008. The name blends her three children's names, BRuno, LIly, and AMelia, styled on the label as an imaginary element on the Periodic Table, a cheeky nod to her medical past.
From 25 cases, Bruliam has grown to roughly 1,000 to 1,200 cases of single-vineyard Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Rockpile Zinfandel from top Sonoma County sites plus the Santa Lucia Highlands, including her own Torrey Hill vineyard in the Russian River Valley with some of Sonoma's oldest Pinot vines. Since inception the winery has run a charitable mandate, donating to over 70 organizations chosen by mailing-list members, and Kerith herself hosts tastings at the Windsor winery.
