About Bump Wine Cellars
Bump Wine Cellars is named for the small topographic bump — the gentle elevation rise on the Ramada Drive property that creates the estate's distinctive drainage pattern and sun exposure angle. In flat terrain, even a small bump changes everything: drainage improves, sun angle shifts, and the vines' root systems respond to the slightly better conditions that higher ground provides.
The El Pomar District estate produces Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel from estate calcareous limestone vineyards where the bump's topographic effect is expressed in wines of slightly better structure and freshness than the surrounding flat terrain typically produces. The name celebrates this small but meaningful geographic feature rather than the grand landscapes that most winery names invoke.
The daily walk-in experience is dog-friendly, picnic-welcoming, and family-hospitable.
