About Cambria Estate Winery
Cambria Estate Winery is the Jackson family's Santa Maria Valley estate, purchased in 1986 on the storied Santa Maria Bench, where the historic Tepusquet Vineyard was first planted in the early 1970s. Today the roughly 1,600-acre property is led by sisters Katie and Julia Jackson, each with a namesake vineyard, and every Cambria wine is 100 percent estate grown, produced and bottled.
This is one of the coolest winegrowing sites in California: the Pacific sits just 15 miles away, and fog and ocean wind funnel down the largest east-west valley on the West Coast, stretching the growing season. The results show in the flagship Katherine's Vineyard Chardonnay and Julia's Vineyard Pinot Noir, joined by Syrah and small-lot single-vineyard bottlings, all farmed under SIP sustainable certification with owl boxes and solar power on site.
The tasting room sits among the vines just off the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail, with a patio overlooking the vineyards, flights ranging from the classic lineup to reserve and library wines, and a pantry of picnic-friendly provisions. Check current hours and book ahead, especially on weekends.
