About Cane & Fable Wines
Cane & Fable Wines combines two literary devices in its name: the cane (a walking stick that supports the traveler through uncertain terrain, the practical object that makes difficult journeys possible) and the fable (the short moral story that carries wisdom through the medium of narrative). Together, they declare wine as both support for the journey and the story worth telling about where the journey led.
The El Pomar District boutique produces Grenache and Syrah from calcareous limestone west-side Paso Robles vineyard sources with the dual-literary-device philosophy the name implies: practical enough to support a meal, storied enough to tell a narrative about the specific terroir that produced it.
The appointment-only format keeps the scale personal and the stories specific — each wine is a fable about a particular place and a particular vintage.
