Charis pours Cumberland's comeback: the Howard Street winery-distillery in the mountain city's historic core serves house wines and small-batch spirits, Appalachian-gateway position and dual-craft range giving Western Maryland's queen city its urban cellar. Hours run downtown-friendly through the week, and the GAP trail's cyclists have made the stop a finishing tradition.
