About Clautiere Vineyard
Clautiere earned a permanent place in Paso lore as the region's most theatrical tasting room: an eccentric, Moulin Rouge-meets-Edward-Scissorhands estate east of town where guests famously donned wigs from a wall of colorful hairpieces while tasting estate Rhone wines. The whimsy was matched by serious estate plantings of Syrah, Mourvedre and Counoise.
The wig-wall era made Clautiere a bucket-list stop for a generation of visitors, and its estate wines earned genuine respect beneath the costume. Current operations are best confirmed before visiting; the legend, at least, is secure.
