About Coastline Wine Co.
Coastline Wine Co. is named for the California coastline — the Pacific edge that defines the maritime climate shaping Paso Robles' west-side appellations. The coastline isn't visible from the estate's Templeton Gap District location, but it's present in every glass: the daily marine air that flows through the Chumash Gap each afternoon, cooling the vineyards by 20 to 30 degrees relative to the east side and preserving the natural acidity and aromatic precision that Grenache and Chardonnay require.
The Paso Robles project sources from Templeton Gap and Adelaida District vineyard sites selected for their maritime influence — the places where the coastline's effects are most pronounced and most legible in the wine. The coastline philosophy means understanding that Paso Robles' best wines are made in collaboration with a body of water that isn't visible from the vineyard.
The appointment-only format keeps the maritime philosophy central to the tasting experience.
