About Core Wine Company

Core Wine Company was a family-owned Santa Barbara County winery founded around 2001 by Dave and Becky Corey, longtime Central Coast wine-industry veterans. Dave, a viticulturist who consulted across the Santa Barbara AVAs before focusing on his own label, built a strong reputation for Rhone varietals, especially Mourvedre and Grenache-based blends, across the CORE, Kuyam, Turchi and C3 labels.

The Coreys ran a well-loved tasting room in Old Town Orcutt, south of Santa Maria, for many years, pouring small-lot, Central Coast wines and hosting community and educational events. The winery was based in Santa Barbara County rather than Paso Robles, though Dave sometimes sourced fruit from Paso's west side and the Templeton Gap in addition to Santa Barbara County vineyards.

Public listings now indicate the Core Wine Company tasting room has closed. This page is kept for reference; anyone seeking Core wines should verify current availability directly, as the tasting room does not appear to be operating.
