About Cottonwood Canyon Vineyard & Winery
Cottonwood Canyon Vineyard and Winery was founded in 1988 by Norman and Sharon Beko on a 78 acre estate just 19 miles from the Pacific Ocean, backed by the San Rafael Mountains. It was the first winery in Santa Barbara County to build wine caves, and self taught winemaker Norman Beko, mentored by Ken Volk of Wildhorse, Bruno D'Alfonso of Sandford and Mitch Cosentino, built the estate around a hands off, French inspired approach to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Syrah.
The Santa Maria Valley's cool climate gives the wines a natural high acidity prized for aging potential, with cave tours and barrel tastings available by appointment alongside the standard tasting menu. Tasting room hours have narrowed in recent seasons, so a call ahead to confirm current availability is the safest way to plan a visit.
