About David Coffaro Estate Vineyard

David Coffaro Estate Vineyard is the most philosophically distinctive winery in the Dry Creek Valley. David Coffaro, a former engineer who planted his first vines in 1979 and has been producing estate wines since 1994, has built a winery model that fundamentally rejects the premium pricing that has characterized most Sonoma County wine development. His estate Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, and Carignan are sold primarily as futures, wines purchased before release at below-market prices as a direct expression of Coffaro's belief that quality wine should be financially accessible to the people who genuinely love it.

The Dry Creek Road estate encompasses old-vine plantings of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignan, and other varieties that reflect the agricultural heritage of the northern Dry Creek Valley. The tasting fee is among the lowest in Sonoma County, a deliberate choice that reflects the same democratic philosophy that drives the futures pricing model. Walk-ins are always welcome, dogs are genuinely accepted, and the experience has the authenticity of a working farm rather than a tasting room designed for tourist appeal.

Coffaro has developed a devoted subscriber following that spans decades, collectors who return year after year specifically because the quality-to-price ratio that the futures model produces is unmatched anywhere in Sonoma County.
