About Deep Roots Winery & Bistro

Deep Roots Winery & Bistro is an urban winery with a full kitchen attached, run as a family business. Its own site names Rudy, Carol and Teara Edenburn as the owners and traces the habit back to stomping grapes in a barrel for their grandfather as children in the early 1990s. The Colorado Wine industry site lists the operation at 2875 Blake Street in Denver's RiNo district, but Westword reported the winery moving out of RiNo, and both the Golden Chamber of Commerce and Visit Golden now list it at 1375 Catamount Drive in Golden, set against the foothills.

The Golden listing describes more than twenty wines made in house, with roughly seventy percent of the grapes sourced from California and Washington and thirty percent from Colorado, plus house made hard lemonades and ciders, and eighteen wines available on tap. Whites, reds and fruit wines all appear, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. The bistro side serves charcuterie, salads, pizza, pasta and small plates built to pair with the pours, with a number of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. There is seating for about seventy five indoors plus a patio for twenty five, dogs are welcome, tours and tastings are guided, and a blending experience lets guests build and take home a custom blend.

The Golden Chamber lists hours of Thursday through Saturday 2 pm to 9 pm and Sunday 1 pm to 7 pm, while the winery's own site still posts Denver hours, so the two sources do not agree. Reservations can be made through the winery website and walk ins have been welcomed; no fixed tasting fee is published. The phone number is (720) 909-3464. Because the address and the schedule are in flux between listings, confirm the current location, hours and reservation rules with the winery before you go.

A family urban winery with a full kitchen, eighteen wines on tap and the foothills beyond the patio rail.
