About Drew Family Cellars
Drew Family Cellars is one of Anderson Valley's most critically acclaimed and philosophically principled micro-production Pinot Noir and Chardonnay programs. Jason and Molly Drew — who studied winemaking specifically to understand how to translate the Anderson Valley's extreme maritime terroir into wines of genuine mineral character and coastal complexity — established the estate in 2002 with a focus on biodynamic farming of the Valenti Ranch and other Anderson Valley sites that they identified as producing Pinot Noir of international quality.
The wine program is small by design: a handful of single-vineyard expressions from biodynamically farmed Anderson Valley sites, produced with native yeasts, minimal additions, and the conviction that the most genuinely authentic expression of what a vineyard produces requires minimal winemaker intervention. Wine Advocate has consistently scored Drew Family wines at 93–97 points, placing them among the finest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay produced in the Anderson Valley.
The Saturday–Sunday walk-in tasting — one of the most laid-back and personally hosted wine experiences on Highway 128, with Jason or Molly often present and dogs warmly welcomed — provides one of the most direct encounters with a biodynamic Anderson Valley micro-production program that sells primarily through word of mouth and mailing list.
