About DRNK Wines
DRNK Wines takes its name from the initials of its founding family, Dale, Ryan, Nancy and Katie, and its identity from winemaker Ryan Kunde, a fifth-generation Sonoma vintner who grew up on the Kunde Family Estate and whose family has farmed the county's vineyards since the 1880s. After a stint in wine sales and a few harvest internships, Ryan founded DRNK in 2012 with his wife, Katie, and her parents, Dale and Nancy Dougherty, to make small-batch wines that showcase Sonoma County's agricultural diversity.
The winemaking is deliberately site-driven and precision-minded, blending old-family knowledge of the land with modern data. The lineup centers on Pinot Noir, the winery's tagline is people, place and Pinot, alongside Chardonnay, Syrah and other small-lot bottlings sourced from distinctive vineyards across the Russian River Valley, Sonoma Valley and Moon Mountain.
The tasting room sits atop Laguna Ridge in Sebastopol and is built around a striking 300-foot wine cave. Visits are by appointment, Friday through Sunday, and run from a cave tour with a patio tasting to a private cave experience. It is relaxed and family-friendly, dogs included, and Ryan is often the one showing guests around.
