About Eddy Grove Vineyard
Eddy Grove Vineyard was a small Kentucky winery in Caldwell County near Princeton, run by two physicians, Drs. David Hall and Jenny Franke. They planted their first vines in 2002 under the name Black Oak Vineyard, and renamed the wine label Medicine Man in 2011.
Over thirteen years the operation grew well past the bottle. When the owners looked back on the venture they singled out the winemaking, the weddings and parties they hosted, and the artisan festivals they took the wine to. The wine went out under the Medicine Man label.
The winery is closed. The owners announced on Facebook that they were shutting the vineyard and winery down, reported as of March 18, 2018, citing weather, pest damage, staffing difficulties and time. Travelers should not plan a visit, and any hours, fees or reservation details still showing on directory listings for this property are out of date.
