About Eveningside Vineyards
Eveningside Vineyards was a small family winery at 4794 Lower Mountain Road in Cambria, New York, on the bench of the Niagara Escarpment east of Niagara Falls. It is worth noting that this page carries a Finger Lakes badge; the vineyard was on the Niagara Wine Trail, a different region entirely. Randy Biehl founded it around 2007, having stepped away from a career as a state parole and probation officer.
The vineyard worked the escarpment bench, the ridge that gives the Niagara Escarpment AVA its growing conditions, and the operation stayed small and estate focused rather than scaling up. It sat off the busier stretch of the trail, which was much of its appeal for visitors who wanted a quiet room.
