About Flat Creek Estate
Flat Creek Estate spreads across roughly 80 acres in the hills between Marble Falls and Lago Vista, about an hour northwest of Austin, with around 20 acres of it under vine. The estate has built its reputation on Italian, Portuguese and Rhone varieties rather than the Bordeaux grapes that dominate much of Texas, so a tasting here runs through Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Syrah, Muscat Canelli and Pinot Grigio - a lineup that rewards anyone who has already worked through the Hill Country's Cabernet circuit.
The property is built for staying rather than stopping. Alongside the tasting room there is a bistro and food hall, a pavilion that hosts live music, gardens and picnic tables scattered across the grounds, and a full disc golf course running through the vineyard. Walk-ins are welcome for tasting and for outdoor seating; reservations are the safer plan for large groups or if you want a table inside the food hall. A winemaker tour with barrel tastings runs as a separate bookable experience for anyone who wants the vineyard-to-laboratory version of the visit.
Plan around the four-day week: the tasting room opens Thursday through Sunday and stays closed Monday through Wednesday, with brunch served on weekend mornings and disc golf open from 9am on operating days. Dogs are welcome outside on a leash, families are explicitly welcomed, and the estate is a long-established wedding and event venue, so a weekend visit may share the grounds with a celebration. Overnight stays on the property have been announced as coming; for now the nearest beds are in Lago Vista, with more in Marble Falls and Cedar Park.

"A Hill Country estate that works as a destination rather than a stop: Mediterranean varieties, a real kitchen, and enough ground to spend the afternoon."
