About Flatland Wine Company
Flatland Wine Company is an unusual wine stop because it lives inside the culture of an established brewery rather than a conventional winery tasting room. Launched in 2024 by Flatland Brewing owners Michelle and Andrew Mohsenzadegan, the wine project focuses on low-intervention Rhône varieties from Lodi-area vineyards. The result is a small wine program designed to sit naturally beside craft beer and the on-site Pizza Peel food operation. The most distinctive wines have included bright Rhône varieties such as Grenache Blanc and Picpoul Blanc, with the release list changing as the project develops. Wine lovers should approach Flatland as a producer to follow rather than a guaranteed daily tasting bar.
Current releases, pairing nights and special wine events are the clearest public pathway, and routine by-the-glass availability should be confirmed before making a special trip. That caveat matters because the shared brewery setting creates both opportunity and complexity. Normal brewery hours run broadly through the week, but the presence of an in-house wine brand does not automatically mean every wine is pouring every day. Check the current wine page or event calendar, especially if wine rather than beer is the primary reason for your visit. When the wine is available, the contrast is part of the appeal.
You can taste a low-intervention Rhône white, order pizza, and still be in a casual brewery environment that welcomes families and, under the brewery's policy, friendly leashed dogs. It is a very different experience from a reservation-led vineyard estate. Flatland is best for adventurous visitors who like seeing how wine culture is changing in suburban and urban spaces. Pair it with a more traditional Elk Grove winery and the differences become especially interesting. Just plan around the actual wine schedule. This is a stop where the current release or pairing event matters more than the address alone.
