About Foxen
Foxen is Santa Maria Valley royalty: Dick Dore and Bill Wathen, the Foxen Boys, founded the winery in 1985 on the historic Rancho Tinaquaic, in the Dore family since the 1837 land grant to English sea captain Benjamin Foxen, whose anchor brand still marks the label. The original shack tasting room on Foxen Canyon Road became one of California wine's beloved landmarks.
The house spans Burgundian Pinot and Chardonnay from great Santa Maria sites to Rhone and Bordeaux bottlings poured at the solar-powered winery up the road, with the shack, Foxen 7200, serving the warm-climate wines. Two centuries of ranch history, one anchor.
