About Fratelli Perata Winery

Fratelli Perata is a tiny, traditional family winery in the El Pomar District of Paso Robles, rooted in Italian immigrant heritage; the name means the Perata brothers in Italian. Founded in the 1980s and making only about 1,800 cases a year from its own estate grapes, it focuses on Italian and Bordeaux varieties, from Sangiovese, Barbera, and Charbono to Cabernet and Merlot, in a distinctly old-world, food-loving style built to age.

This is a low-key, personal stop far from the polished-resort end of Paso. Tastings are by appointment and walk you through a curated range of the estate's varieties with food-pairing suggestions, some ready to drink now, others worth cellaring. For lovers of authentic, traditional Italian-style California wine, it is a genuine hidden gem.

Gino and LorisGino and Loris Perata, the Italian-heritage brothers whose Arbor Road El Pomar District estate is named 'Fratelli Perata' (the most personally Italian-brothers-fratelli-tribute-naming and most individually Italian-heritage-family-brotherhood-declaring approach available to any California wine estate), established the most individually Italian-brothers-fratelli-naming and genuinely Perata-family-warmly-Italian-heritage-conducted Paso Robles appointment in 1987.
The Fratelli PerataThe Fratelli Perata Italian and Bordeaux dual-tradition program, Nebbiolo (the Perata brothers' most personally Italian-heritage-Piedmont-philosophy and Paso-Robles-specifically-pioneering Italian variety), Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Zinfandel, demonstrates what the most personally Italian-brothers-fratelli-heritage and most broadly Italian-and-Bordeaux-variety-dually-Paso-Robles-committed appointment produces when genuine Italian-heritage brothers' quality conviction and 35+ years of accumulated Paso Robles Italian-variety farming knowledge guide every decision.
