About Gambino Cellars
Gambino Cellars is the Italian-heritage family estate of the Gambino family — a surname that carries American cultural baggage (The Godfather, the Sicilian mob connection that Mario Puzo made famous) but represents, in the Gambino family's own history, genuine Italian heritage applied to California winemaking. The family reclaims the name for its actual origin: Italian wine culture, not organized crime.
The Union Road estate produces Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel from El Pomar District calcareous limestone estate vineyards with the Italian family-wine-culture values the naming implies: personal investment, family accountability, genuine hospitality. The walk-in tasting room is dog-friendly, picnic-welcoming, and family-hospitable — the antithesis of the name's cultural baggage.
The estate's wines are made with the honest simplicity of a family that wants to be known for their wine, not their association with a fictional crime family.
