About Gelfand Vineyards
Gelfand Vineyards was a small family estate winery on the east side of Paso Robles, founded by Len and Jan Gelfand, who planted about ten acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel and Petite Sirah in equal blocks on limestone slopes at 5530 Dresser Ranch Place. It earned a loyal following for bold, dark, richly styled reds and warm, personable owner-led tastings.
The estate has since passed to new owners and now operates as Dresser Winery by Gelfand Vineyards. Kory and Cathy Burke, previous wine-club members who had begun making wine at the property, took over around 2016 and continue the estate's focus on big reds, farming roughly 25 acres and producing about 1,500 cases a year of largely estate-grown wine, with intimate, reservation-based tasting experiences.
