About Huntington River Vineyard

Huntington River Vineyard is the wine side of Galloping Hill Farm, the Guilfoy family's farm at 344 Moody Road in Huntington, Vermont, in the Green Mountains. The vines went into the farm's sloping fields in 2004. The same property runs horses, for riding, breeding and training, and hosts weddings, so the vineyard is one part of a working farm rather than a standalone winery campus.

About 1,400 vines are planted, all cold hardy types chosen to survive Vermont winters, and the farm lists La Crescent, Frontenac Gris, Frontenac and Marquette among them. Everything is grown and bottled on the farm. Frontenac Gris draws particular praise from customers. The winery appears on the Vermont Wine Trail and has been a Vermont Winery Passport stop, and the bottles turn up in a handful of local stores as well as at the farm itself.

This is not a drop in tasting room. The farm says it is open seasonally by appointment, and directory listings likewise show tasting by appointment only, so contact the vineyard first at (802) 434-3332 rather than relying on the daily 10 am to 4 pm hours shown on this page. No tasting fee is published. Confirm current details before you go.

A Green Mountain horse farm with 1,400 cold hardy vines, open seasonally and only by arrangement.
