Jeremy Wine Co. anchors a corner of downtown Lodi at 6 West Pine Street, just off School Street, where a boutique tasting room fills an early-1900s building. The centerpiece is the bar itself - a piece dating to the 1850s that originally stood in a small Wyoming saloon, brass footrest and all. The house style is small-production and eclectic: alongside Lodi Zinfandel you will find Tempranillo, Albarino, Barbera, Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and a seasonal Chocolate Port, so the tasting menu rarely reads the same way twice.
A few miles east, the winery runs a second location in Lockeford - a barrel room set among old-vine Zinfandel dating to the late 1920s, with patios overlooking the vines and a marketplace of snacks, charcuterie, and cheeses. The Lockeford site also hosts the Zin Lab, the winery's hands-on tasting experience.
The downtown Lodi tasting room is open daily 12pm to 5pm. Classic bar tastings run $15, waived with a bottle purchase per taster, and groups of eight or fewer need no reservation - larger parties should call ahead. It is an easy pairing with lunch or dinner in the downtown core.
