Jess Jackson — the San Francisco attorney who purchased his first vineyard in 1974 and built Kendall-Jackson into a national brand through the now-iconic Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay — established the Fulton Road estate as the experiential heart of the KJ family vision: a place where wine, food, agriculture, and education converge in a single comprehensive destination.
The 120-acre California Culinary Garden — one of the most elaborate sensory garden programs available at any California winery — features varietal herb plantings matched to specific wines, vegetable gardens that supply the estate's culinary program, and an educational design that allows visitors to experience the aromatic and flavor connections between garden plants and wine varieties in a physically immersive way.
