Landmark Vineyards at Hop Kiln Estate occupies one of the most historically atmospheric settings in Sonoma wine country. The stone tasting room is housed inside a 1905 hop kiln — the most significant surviving example of a stone hop kiln in the North Coast region, listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and as a California Historical Landmark.
Hops, not grapes, were Sonoma County's first major agricultural crop — the kiln was built to dry them for beer production. When Landmark Vineyards acquired the property in 2016, they restored the dramatic stone towers and converted the space into a tasting room that combines industrial architectural beauty with the estate's 93 acres of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris vineyards.
The estate sits in the Middle Reach sub-region of Russian River Valley — long considered the crown jewel of the appellation for Pinot Noir growing conditions. First Sunday of each month features live music on the lawn, complimentary with any tasting.
Landmark Vineyards — Hop Kiln Estate presents a featured lineup that includes Hop Kiln Estate Pinot Noir, Overlook Chardonnay, Sonoma County Pinot Noir, and Pinot Gris. Together, these bottles provide a focused introduction to the varieties, vineyard sources, and style that define the winery's current portfolio.
