About Legoe Bay Winery
Legoe Bay Winery was a small boutique winery on Lummi Island, Washington, the northernmost of the U.S. San Juan Islands, established in the mid-2000s. It took its name from Legoe Bay, the island cove known for its historic reefnet salmon fishery, and operated from a converted marina and a restored century-old farmhouse tasting room on the island's west shore.
The winery bought hand-harvested grapes from established Columbia Valley vineyards in eastern Washington and made small lots of varietal wines - Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Viognier, Gewurztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Malbec and its Reefnet Red - prized as much for the ferry-and-island experience and water views as for the wine itself.
Legoe Bay Winery has since closed; the owners posted a farewell thanking the visitors who found their way across Hale Passage, and the tasting room no longer operates.
