About Longoria Wines
Longoria Wines carries one of the great names of Santa Barbara County winemaking. Rick Longoria became Firestone Vineyard's first cellar foreman in 1976, launched his own label in 1982 with 500 cases of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, and in 1998 became the first winery to set up in what would become Lompoc's famous Wine Ghetto. In 2014 he and his wife Diana moved into their own winery and a spacious tasting room in Lompoc's historic JM Club building on East Chestnut Avenue.
In 2022, after 40 years, the Longorias sold the winery to Brooke and Lindsey Christian, who have kept it family-run, renovated the Lompoc tasting room, and opened a second tasting location on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara, with Rick staying on initially as consulting winemaker to guide the transition.
The wines remain true to the founding vision: small artisanal lots, roughly 50 to 500 cases each, of Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir and Chardonnay alongside Spanish varieties like Albarino, Tempranillo and Graciano, plus Cabernet Franc and Syrah. The Lompoc room, a few blocks from the Wine Ghetto, offers a relaxed lounge with a fireplace and welcomes walk-ins most afternoons Thursday through Monday.
