About MAHA Estate / Villa Creek Cellars
MAHA Estate and Villa Creek Cellars occupy the same Adelaida Road address, sharing calcareous limestone west-side Paso Robles terroir while maintaining distinct wine identities. MAHA — Mark and Heather Adams's founders' initials compressed into four letters — produces Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah from the estate's most structured blocks. Villa Creek Cellars, the companion label, focuses on Rhône blends and single-varietal Grenache and Syrah.
The Adelaida District's defining characteristics — calcareous limestone subsoils similar to Burgundy's Côte d'Or, 50°F diurnal temperature swings, marine air flowing over the Santa Lucia Range — produce wines of unusual freshness and structure relative to most Central Coast estates. The MAHA and Villa Creek programs together demonstrate the range this terroir supports: structured mountain Cabernet alongside aromatic, finesse-driven Rhône varieties.
Mark and Heather Adams have farmed this site with the care of people who have put their initials on the label — personal investment visible in both the farming and the hospitality.
