About Maple Springs Vineyard
Maple Springs Vineyard is at 91 Nuss Road in Bechtelsville, Pennsylvania, in the Lehigh Valley appellation northwest of Philadelphia. Marianne Lieberman and her wife bought the 80 acre property in 1995 and planted the first vines in 2008, after Marianne spent two decades in the corporate world; her family had older ties to drink, since her grandfather was president of the North American Brewing Association. It is a woman owned vineyard, run on a stated vision of showing what Pennsylvania can do with first rate wine, with an emphasis on sustainable practice.
Six grape varieties grow across the property, bottled under two labels: an Estate Collection of premium single varietals and a New Leaf line of red, white and rose blends. The wines have traveled well beyond the farm, carried by sixty or more restaurants across Pennsylvania and Maryland by one count and over 150 in Philadelphia by another. The visit is deliberately small: public tours and tastings run only two or three times a month for small groups, private pod tastings take up to sixteen people, and larger private tastings can be arranged. Members get tastings in an on site treehouse overlooking the vineyard, plus the chance to join harvest and crush and to taste barrel samples before release.
There are no walk in hours here. The vineyard works by appointment, with a message only phone line listed at 610.702.2174 and an email address of info@maplespringsvineyard.com; one directory states flatly that it is not open for public tastings, while the winery itself schedules a handful of public tours and tastings each month. Treat the daily 10 am to 4 pm shown on this page as wrong. No tasting fee is published, so ask when you book. Confirm current details before you go.

"Maple Springs farms Bechtelsville's slopes: the Berks estate grows vinifera on a historic farm whose pet-nat and small-lot bottlings brought natural-leaning attention, events-forward grounds serving the county's polished end."
