About Montevina Wines
Montevina was a modern Amador pioneer, planted in the early 1970s as the Shenandoah Valley's wine revival gathered steam, and it grew into one of the region's most visible producers, an early champion of both Zinfandel and Italian varieties like Barbera and Sangiovese in foothill soils. The Shenandoah Valley tasting room at this location is now permanently closed, though the old-vine Zinfandels and Barberas remain the labels' calling cards through the Trinchero family and retail channels.
