Navarro Vineyards — Anderson Valley Winery & Tasting Room

Navarro Vineyards carries the Spanish place name of the Navarro River — the coastal Mendocino river whose name derives from the Basque-Spanish surname Navarro, itself from Navarra (the northern Spanish kingdom). The river gave the Anderson Valley its most important waterway, and Navarro's estate on Highway 128 has been the valley's most prominent pioneer since Ted Bennett and Deborah Cahn established it in 1974. Navarro is famous for producing California's most consistently celebrated Gewürztraminer — the Alsatian aromatic white variety that the Anderson Valley's maritime-cooled fog corridor nurtures to extraordinary spice and perfume. Wine Advocate has scored Navarro's Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir at 89–93 points.
