Neela Mahkeem Winery — St. Helena Winery & Tasting Room

Neela Mahkeem Winery is named from the Wintun language of the Patwin people — the Indigenous inhabitants of the Napa Valley whose territory encompassed the land where today's wine estates operate. Neela means 'sky' and Mahkeem means 'earth' in Wintun, together declaring the elemental forces between which wine grows: from the earth below and toward the sky above.

The estate's naming is a declaration of respect for the Patwin people's prior custodianship of the Napa Valley. The St. Helena estate produces Cabernet Sauvignon from estate vineyard sources with the sky-earth elemental philosophy the dual Indigenous naming implies.
