About Nello Olivo Winery
Two locations: Nello Olivo pours at two El Dorado tasting rooms. The year-round Camino room is at 3544 Carson Road ((530) 308-3617), and the seasonal Placerville room sits in the historic Sequoia Mansion cellar at 643 Bee Street ((530) 409-5603, weekends, typically closed January-February).
Nello Olivo is Placerville's resident Italian romantic: Nello's downtown tasting room on Bee Street, a cozy, European-feeling cellar an easy walk from Main Street, pours his Italian-variety wines with poetry recitations, stories and the house Lemonello, hosted often by the man himself.
Charitable, theatrical and genuinely local, it gives El Dorado's county seat its old-world corner. Placerville, con amore.
