North Branch ferments Montpelier's own: the Trillium Hill winery makes cold-hardy Vermont wines from capital-area and state fruit, small-batch urban-edge craft and community-supported-wine thinking giving the state's smallest capital its own label. Capital-city craft and small-batch honesty built local loyalty. The branch above the statehouse.
Current tasting hours are Thu-Sun 11am-5pm. Worth knowing before you go: dogs are welcome. Sources list wheelchair access at the tasting room; check with the winery about anything more specific. Call ahead on (802) 229-6169 to confirm current hours and availability before making the drive.
