Odonata Wines takes its name from Odonata — the order of insects that contains dragonflies and damselflies, the aerial acrobats of freshwater ecosystems whose iridescent wings and extraordinary flying ability make them one of nature's most visually spectacular insects. The dragonfly-order naming declares the estate's alignment with the freshwater riparian ecosystem: wine produced near the waterways where Odonata species are most abundant, the insects' presence declaring the environmental health of the water system. The Templeton Gap boutique produces Grenache, Tempranillo, and Barbera from Paso Robles estate and contracted vineyard sources.
