Oleada Wines is named from the Spanish oleada — the wave surge, the powerful movement of water that sweeps in from the ocean, the surge that changes the landscape with its passage. Applied to the Sta. Rita Hills coastal wine country, the oleada is the daily surge of Pacific marine air that flows inland through the Lompoc Valley to cool the vineyards — the wave of cold ocean influence that defines the AVA's growing character. The boutique produces Grenache and Mourvèdre from contracted Sta. Rita Hills vineyard sources.
