About Paraiso Vineyards
Paraiso Vineyards is a family-owned estate in the Santa Lucia Highlands, one of Monterey County's most acclaimed appellations for cool-climate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Smith family planted their first vines in 1973 on the steep, wind-swept benchlands above the Salinas Valley, and the estate now encompasses over 400 acres of vineyards at elevations that capture the maritime fog and afternoon breezes that define the region's character. Paraiso was among the earliest vineyards planted in the Santa Lucia Highlands and has been a cornerstone grape source for some of California's most celebrated winemakers.
The tasting room on Paraiso Springs Road offers sweeping views across the valley and a chance to taste estate wines including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Syrah, and Riesling in a relaxed, family-run atmosphere. The wines reflect the elevation and maritime influence of the site, delivering bright acidity, complex aromatics, and a sense of place that has earned Paraiso consistent recognition at state and national competitions.
