About Pech Merle
Pech Merle is a quirky, boutique, family-run winery in downtown Geyserville, founded in 2009 and named for the prehistoric painted caves of Pech Merle in France, which the founders visited and found unforgettable. The brand leans into romance and emotion, a farm-boy-meets-California-foodie love story, and the wines back it up: fewer than 3,000 cases a year of single-vineyard, limited-production bottlings sourced from some of Sonoma County's best sites.
The range spans Dry Creek Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Rose and Zinfandel, Russian River Pinot Noir, Rockpile Zinfandel, and Alexander Valley Cabernet and Cabernet Franc, crafted by a veteran winemaker with decades of experience.
The tasting room is the fun part: an up-cycled chic, Pinterest-driven space where you might sip at the bar, on the patio, or on a ski chairlift suspended from the ceiling, paired with local cheese, charcuterie or pizza. Dog-friendly and open daily.
